Russian invaders continue their attacks from Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Maryinka, and Lyman regions. Bakhmut is one of the regions where the most intense attacks of the Russian invaders have taken place since the beginning of the war. So much so that the Russian army has lost more than 100,000 soldiers in and around Bakhmut so far.
Bakhmut, which is in a very strategic position, has recently come to the agenda again with the ‘withdrawal’ decision of Wagner Group Boss Yevgeni Prigozhin. While Prigozhin’s statements left their mark on the agenda, the Ukrainian army managed to turn the balances in Bakhmut in its favor. In recent weeks, the Russian army has managed to retreat from the city.
According to the latest intelligence report of the British Ministry of Defence, the Russian army retreated for kilometers in Bakhmut. Taking advantage of this situation, the Ukrainian army continued its advance.
The Ukrainian army has not lost any territory in Bakhmut in recent weeks. Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar said: Our defenders advanced two kilometers in the Bakhmut sector, we did not lose a single position in Bakhmut this week. Our troops are destroying the enemy and have already captured many [Russian soldiers],”
The dispute between the Wagner Group and the Russian army played a major role in the Ukrainian army’s gaining the upper hand in Bakhmut. Recently, Wagner’s boss Prigozhin said that the Russian soldier had fled.
Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade posted a video on social media purportedly showing the battle with Russia’s 72nd Brigade. The video clearly confirms Prigozhin’s statements. The clip shows Russian soldiers fleeing from armored vehicles.
