The Ukrainian army is getting the fighter jets it needs most before the big offensive! Western and European states have agreed to send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force Command said that the pilots are ready to fight with F-16s!
Since the beginning of the war, Ukraine has managed to liberate most of the occupied territories. The success achieved against the Russian invaders is due to the military aid provided by the Western and European states. Now Ukraine is preparing for a major offensive to completely expel the occupiers from its territory.
Since last February 2022, NATO allies have provided Ukraine with 150 billion euros in aid, 65 billion of which is military aid.
This aid includes Patriot air defense systems, Leopard 2 and Challenger 2 tanks, HIMARS and howitzers, HARM, Javelin, JDAM missiles, and many state-of-the-art weapons and ammunition.
Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that their biggest need was fighter jets before the big offensive they would launch against the Russian invaders. Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov recently said that allied states would send fighter jets to Ukraine.
Following Reznikov’s remarks, Yurii Ihnat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, made a statement. Ihnat said that several dozen pilots are already ready to fight in F-16 fighter jets. Ihnat said:
“We are planning to transfer all pilots [to the F-16s]. We need to teach everyone. But the Air Force commander has determined pilots who already have a certain level of English, combat experience, and these are young pilots. They are ready to fight even tomorrow. A political decision is needed here so that we can start the process of training ground personnel as well. These are combat management officers and military engineers. Several dozen pilots are ready to fight,”
Unlike the Ukrainian army, the Russian Air Force uses Soviet-era aircraft. Recently, the Russian Su-34 fighter jet ‘accidentally’ bombed the Russian city of Belgrood! At the same time, the Russian MiG-31 Foxhound fighter jet turned into a ball of flames due to engine failure and crashed!
What do you think about the Ukrainian army receiving fighter jet support?
